AMICALE LAÏQUE DE MONSAC
SOIREE POLYNESIENNE
SATURDAY 2nd AUGUST
Polynesian dance show will bring passion and paradise to the village of Monsac
A Polynesian dance troupe called Heiva I Tahiti (which means "party time" in Tahitian) will perform in the village of Monsac on Saturday 2nd August 2008.
The troupe consists of 16 flamboyant dancers, singers and musicians from French Polynesia, who have been recruited from amongst the best troupes in Tahiti.
The vibrant show, which promises 'one and a half hours of pure magic'’, uses music, dancing, sumptuous costumes and lighting techniques to bring all the folklore of Tahiti and the islands of the South Pacific to life.
The artists perform authentic exotic dances, including a spectacular Dance of Fire, the Haka and The Dance of Love. They are accompanied by an orchestra of instruments and percussion typical of the Islands of the Pacific.
Heiva I Tahiti was formed in 1985 by Germaine Dexter and Christian Hue. Their remarkable physiques and authentic choreographies led to them becoming the leading Tahitian troupe performing in France, touring 8-9 months of the year throughout Europe.
The show will be held in the grounds of the Salle de Fêtes at Monsac, which is 9km from Beaumont-du-Périgord 24440. Doors open at 8pm.
Entrance is 20 euro for adults and completely free for children up to the age of 15.
